As a follow up to our August Item on Seed Quality and Treatments, Nickerson Original proven vigour cereal seed has been seen in the field to deliver what the grower expects. The picture shows a crop of Alchemy treated with Sibutol Secure drilled on the 19^th October.

The crop on the left is Nickerson Original with GPA/Seed Film Coating, the crop on the right was sown with farm saved seed. To date the farm saved seed part of the field has required an application of slug pellets to ensure establishment costing an extra £3.80/acre, probably negating any perceived saving by using home saved seed.
