HUSBANDRY GUIDES SHOW GROWERS HOW TO GET THE BEST RESULTS
Cassius, a soft-endospermed milling wheat with excellent yield potential, has outstanding resistance to yellow and brown rust, together with good standing ability. Suitable for early sowing, the variety performs well in a second-wheat situation and is well suited to the distilling, export and feed markets.
Panorama, a hard-milling variety, is the highest-yielding bread-making wheat on the HGCA Recommended List, with excellent specific weight and a good Hagberg Falling Number (HFN). It combines good lodging resistance with very good resistance to the main foliar diseases, particularly brown and yellow rust.
Nickerson’s Husbandry Guides cover each variety in depth, providing an overview of its characteristics and place in the market, together with individual chapters focusing on pedigree and selection mechanism, yield potential, agronomic characters, place in the rotation and rotational performance. They also cover resistance to diseases and pests, seed rates, seed treatments and herbicide use, response to fungicide, crop nutrition, grain quality and financial performance.
The new Husbandry Guides supplement existing publications covering a number of other Nickerson winter wheat varieties, including Alchemy, Claire, Deben, Einstein, Exsept, Istabraq, Nijinsky, Solstice, Xi19 and Zebedee.
