Troon Spring Barley
Troon Spring Barley

Troon was added to the HGCA UK Recommended List in 2003 and currently has a specific Recommended for the North-East region. Troon is an early, high yielding, stiff strawed spring malting variety with excellent resistance to mildew and yellow rust.

Troon has a high hot water extract, which combined with its good specific weight and low screening levels make it a very interesting option for spring barley growers. Troon is of particular interest to the whisky distilling market.
