POWER has been bred specifically to meet the needs of
mixed farmers: a very high yielding barley that is both cheap and easy to grow. It has good all round disease resistance, with better ratings than the two most widely grown feed varieties, Riviera and Spire, while offering a much improved yield. Power's untreated yield is the highest available of the feed types on the Spring Barley Recommended List.


Power has no weaknesses. It is suited to all soil types and has already been proven in both UK trials and on farm. The grain has a good specific weight and is early to ripen, increasingly important with more contract combining.

Power has the highest untreated yields available, 8% above Spire. For feed barley growers in mixed farm situations, untreated trial data is often more relevant than data from treated trials where large amounts of fungicide are used.

Power has the best all round disease resistance available with no disease weaknesses. The very high untreated yield of Power is reflected by this level of resistance and offers growers the opportunity to reduce their fungicide costs and make spray programmes more flexible.
