CARAT is a stiff-strawed 2-row feed quality winter barley with very short straw and is a specific recommendation for growers wanting an early maturing variety. Carat has the highest specific weight of any variety on the HGCA Recommended List.

Good all-round disease resistance is combined with resistance to Barley Yellow Mosaic Virus.
