EARLY VIGOUR
When drilling later in the season or for growers in the North of the UK, getting your oilseed rape established quickly is an important priority. Artoga has excellent early vigour allowing for rapid development and producing a large, healthy plant going in to winter. This characteristic has been observed frequently in many trials across Europe. See photos of Artoga's early vigour in our free Technical Guide.
WINTER HARDINESS
Having established your crop, the next challenge is getting it through the winter. This has been particularly difficult in recent cold winters. In Northern Germany winter hardiness is an absolute necessity and trials show that there are huge varietal differences. In German trials Artoga is one of the hardiest varieties. See photos of Artoga's winter hardiness in our free Technical Guide.
YIELD STABILITY
Some varieties have huge yield potential but show inconsistency from farm to farm and from year to year. Artoga has a high yield potential and has shown a high level of consistency in trials. Artoga has the ability to perform well in a range of climatic conditions and has a very stable yield. It is no surprise therefore that Artoga is grown in all of the major European rape growing countries.
EARLY HARVEST
Difficult harvest conditions in 2010 showed that later maturing varieties can put your yield at risk. Artoga is the earliest maturing variety on the 2011 North region Recommended List. This is an invaluable characteristic.
POD SHATTER RESISTANCE
Delayed harvest, high workload, rain and hail can all result in much of your oilseed rape crop being left in the field. Artoga has excellent pod shatter resistance. This characteristic comes from the male parent and is passed on to the hybrid as a consequence of the hybridisation method used by Limagrain. See photos of Artoga's pod shatter resistance in our free Technical Guide.

On the 1-9 scales, high figures indicate that the variety shows the character to a high degree.
