GOOD DISEASE RESISTANCE

Yellow Rust 4 5
Brown Rust 4 4
Septoria nodorum 5 5
Septoria tritici 5 5
Eyespot 4 6
Fusarium
Ear Bright
6 5

Solstice has good resistance to Septoria tritici and Fusarium ear blight, important for a quality variety. The development of mildew and eyespot will require monitoring, especially in early sown, thick crops and brown rust should be catered for where this is historically a problem.

A new race of yellow rust developed during 2009 which can attack Solstice (and other varieties).  Crops should be carefully monitored for this disease and the use of a broad-spectrum seed dressing considered in high risk situations.

SOWING DATE
Solstice can be sown from mid- September through to the end of January.
