Growing your own stubble turnips crop for your livestock smallholding can have many benefits. You get full traceability, and reducing your reliance on bought-in feed concentrates, improves your profitability – to name a few!

Stubble turnips provide an attractive source of highly palatable, easy to digest forage for your sheep, lambs, pigs, dairy or beef cattle. They are a fast growing catch crop. Stubble turnips are economical to grow and can help to reduce winter feed costs.

Rondo is a green skinned stubble turnip that’s suitable as a sheep or cattle feed. Its excellent root anchorage helps reduce wastage in the field, as the crop is less likely to be trampled by the grazing livestock.

Rondo has a very leafy growth habit, which provides excellent feed grazing. It is also useful for out-wintering systems.

Rondo benefits from frost-tolerance and excellent disease resistance, remaining palatable to livestock.

Utilise stubble turnips for later use feed, from September to early February.
